Citroen has come good with the DS3, a striking model that also drives brilliantly.
The car, as tested, isn’t the most fleet-friendly diesel version, though 118g/km CO2 still means a benefit-in-kind tax band of just 13% and £36 per month for a 20% tax payer. A fleet manager’s choice would be the 99g/km 1.4 95hp petrol, but those that want a bit more power would be wise to opt for the 1.6 110hp diesel, which has far more oomph than you would expect yet still isn’t a costly choice at a predicted cost per mile of 40.9p.
The Citroen DS3 is a rare case where the French brand can compete against premium players Mini, Audi and Alfa Romeo. The top trim DSport has cruise control, Bluetooth and alloy wheels as standard too. If your company wants a quirky small car, this Citroen should definitely be considered.
