Renault claims the Grand Scenic has 40 stowage points providing up to 83 litres of space, a best-in-class total. The areas include 4.5-litre drawers beneath the driver and front passenger seats (pictured), and a double sliding centre console in two sections: space beneath the armrest for small objects such as pens, and a larger main bin beneath, although watch your fingers when closing the console’s lid as I’ve jammed mine more than once.

But there is a downside to all that storage space, which is that I’m finding there are more places for my kids to dump their rubbish. Aaarrgh!
