There are lots of liveried company cars on our roads and the reason why is simple – your fleet acts as a mobile billboard for your services, leading to more business.

However, while chatting to the Mazda dealer that recently serviced my long-term CX-7, we discussed how far you could take this concept. Could you, for instance, get your liveried car on Google Maps?

After the chat with TW White & Sons marketing man Ali, some magnetic logos were produced, which meant they could easily be applied and removed without damaging the car. I took them on holiday to the north-west of Scotland (see previous long term at www.businesscar.co.uk/ourfleet) and photographed the car with and without the branding in several locations, then uploaded them to Google Maps and waited.

The pictures you can see here (left) are from Google Maps. If there’s something a business can learn from the disappointing results is that if you’re going to put livery on a car, make it as big and bold as possible.
