The Scenic’s big brother, the Grand Scenic boasts seven generous seats to the former’s five.
Considering its people-carrier dimensions, the 130hp 1.4-litre engine does well in the power stakes, holding its own on motorways.
The extra two seats in the Grand Scenic will cost you £1400 more than the equivalent Scenic, and as well as the extra chairs, that money buys a vehicle 216mmn longer than its sibling for an extra 232 litres of boot space. Its 2g/km more of CO2 (170g/km) puts it in a higher tax band – costing £76 per month for a 20% tax rate payer, compared to £68 for the Scenic, and the extra size and therefore weight results in a 1.6mpg reduction in fuel economy for thsi 1.4 petrol version.
The Convenience Pack, a £560 option fitted to our test vehicle, is well worth the money for the front and rear parking sensors alone, decreasing the potential for costly parking scrapes.
