Seat has introduced a range of emissions-lowering measures to its Exeo, with the new Ecomotive-branded model bringing CO2 down to 117g/km, while the official economy figure is 62.8mpg.
The measures include stop/start, low rolling-resistance tyres, improved aerodynamics and an energy recovery system, and are available with all five specification levels, including the two Tech trims that add satnav, leather interior and a Bose stereo upgrade for £550.
The Ecomotive version costs £350 more than a standard Exeo, but is 12g/km more efficient and 5.2mpg to the good, so that money should be paid back quickly given the gap in driver’s BIK bands as well as the other tax and fuel use savings.
The Exeo is pleasantly classy. It’s not the last word in efficiency, driver appeal or running costs, given the sub-30% RV, but from a fleet perspective this new model adds to the appeal and is certainly well worth considering.
