Honda Legend: One Minute Test

Date: 30 October 2006   |   Author: Tristan Young

Category: Executive
Price: £39,602
Key rival: Citroen C6

What's new: We drive Honda's range-topping car, the Legend, to see if it can cut it in the executive world.

Excellent: Honda's new Legend will be rare because Japanese brand is looking to sell hundreds not thousands. It is, though, packed full of technology including lane-keeping assistance, four-wheel drive and accident avoidance wizardry.

Good: Beyond the whizzy technology, the car also has every extra going as standard in this the priciest version, including leather, satnav, clever cruise control and more.

Average: Depreciation is never good for large petrol-engined cars. The Honda is no exception, Topcalc predicts a drop of £27,000 over three years/60,000 miles.

Poor: Unfortunately, despite the power and four-wheel drive the car is a disappointing drive.

Verdict: Honda is only aiming to sell a handful of these cars, which will ensure exclusivity, if not residual values.
