The start point for the best source of fleet information

Vauxhall Zafira VXR - One minute test

Date: 26 August 2006

What's new: VXR badge and 2.0-litre 240PS engine mean the Zafira is the coolest car in the seven-seat mini-MPV fleet.

Excellent:

There's no getting away from how quick this car is. Which makes it fun to drive, so would be a great addition to any choice list that's designed for staff retention.

Good: Given this is a 144mph vehicle with a 0-62mph time of 7.2secs, insurance group 15 and average mpg of 29.4 impress.

Average: There may not be many seven-seat MPVs this quick at this price, but for user-choosers willing to sacrifice two seats there are plenty of quick estate alternatives.

Poor: Near impossible to drive smoothly - even before you've pressed the 'Sport' button which sharpens throttle response. The secret for a passenger-pleasing drive is to stick in the highest gear possible.

Verdict: The most fun mini-MPV on sale.
