The start point for the best source of fleet information

Chrysler Sebring Limited 2.0 CRD: Test Drive

Chrysler, now separate from Mercedes, is continuing the growth in new models at a rapid rate.

One of the latest to the UK is the Sebring, a Mondeo-sized car for Focus on-the-road money.

Residual value figures have yet to be set by our costs provider Topcalc, but unfortunately the outlook isn't good. While the Sebring has sensible fuel consumption of 45.6mpg for the 2.0-litre diesel, the noise levels from said engine are high, as are vibration levels, which feedback through the steering wheel. And while the exterior styling can be best described as love it or hate it, the interior is below that of more mainstream upper medium cars. The A-pillar is worryingly large, obscuring a large amount of road; the fit and finish is below the industry average, particularly around the dashboard; and the materials used are plasticy.

Equipment levels, however, are high and include leather seats, climate and cruise control, plus trip computer, all of which would make it suitable for longer motorway journeys - if it weren't for the bouncy ride.

Verdict: Wait for the whole life costs before if you must take the plunge
