Getting the specification right on our new Corsa wasn't as easy as it could have been, writes John Mahoney
Recently, I've had an embarrassing problem with my specs life - I wanted to keep our Corsa simple in terms of specification, but fell at the first hurdle.
Choosing the 80PS 1.2-litre petrol for our Corsa was the easy bit - it's the sweetest engine in the range - but it is unavailable on base Expression trim. So make it a Life, then? No, because driving without the full airbag compliment sounded risky, so we settled on a Club, which was fine, until days before its arrival I realised Club doesn't come with aircon. Cue images of steamed-up windows and sweltering hot temperatures.
Fortunately, by fluke, someone had added chilled air (£500), so disaster averted.
