Honda's original Jazz went on sale in 2002, and has sold more than 160,000 in the UK since its birth.
The average age of these 160,000 buyers is 63, and half of them replace their Jazz with another. It therefore made sense for Honda not to go down the same radical restyling route as it took with the Civic.
Instead, Honda's focussing on the supermini's practicality. A new 'Double-Trunk' feature changes the boot from being a hollow space behind the back seats into a truly versatile area. Not only is there the under-floor storage, but the boot also incorporates a net. This can either form part of the floor or be folded up to make a handy shelf.
Should this extended boot's 399-litre capacity be insufficient, the rear seats flip down flat to take space to 883 litres. Rear headrests no longer have to be removed, and the seats drop in one easy movement.
