We've now rattled well past the 11,000-mile mark in the A4 - not bad going in just over five months but well shy of Audi's lengthy 18,000-mile service intervals.

If it were the shorter 12,500 miles employed by some rival manufacturers, we'd already be looking at a service bill.

Economy continues to hover around the 40.0mpg mark, with urban tanks averaging just above mid-30s, and up to 10.0mpg more on the frequent instances when the A4 gets to stretch its legs.
