Our Fleet Test Drive: Subaru Legacy - New arrival

Date: 26 June 2008   |   Author: Tristan Young

Normally with long-termers one of the team runs the car - looking after servicing, maintenance and so one - and then we all share it.

But with our most recent addition, a Legacy estate with the all-new Boxer diesel engine, things may change. I've only had the keys for 24 hours and I don't think I'll let anyone else near it.

The Subaru suits my life perfectly. I spend a serious amount of time on the motorway during the week and at weekends it's all kids and dogs. What's more, the engine is impressive. It's excellent and CO2 is just 154g/km, which puts it in the 21% BIK band. And I know it's a gimmick, but I also love the way the dials sweep the dash when you start the ignition.
