Citroen Nemo Multispace: One Minute Test Drive Review

Date: 16 July 2009   |   Author:

Category: Supermini-MPV
P11D price: £10,892
Key rival: Daihatsu Materia

What's new
This is the passenger car version of Citroen's well-received new Nemo commercial vehicle, following on from the passenger version of bigger brother Berlingo.

Excellent
There's an impressive array of internal storage areas, plenty to stash all the oddments a young family attract. The sliding rear doors are also handy for access in tight parking spaces.

Good
The 360-litre boot behind the rear seats is unexpectedly large and not too far off rivals from the class above, while the 1.4-litre diesel engine comes in at 99g/km so gets into the 13% BIK?banding.

Average
Performance is adequate from the 75PS diesel engine, and some of the interior materials betray the commercial heritage and low P11D.

Poor
Rear passenger space is restricted, possibly as a compromise for the decent-sized boot, and the stereo quality isn't particularly good.

Verdict
The Nemo is a good little no-frills car, and that's not intended as faint praise. A cost per mile figure of 27.5p makes it attractive.
