Porsche 911 Targa 4S PDK: Test Drive Review

The 911 Targa is an interesting answer for fleets that ban convertibles. For directors not wanting to act the hypocrite and get the 911 cabriolet they want, the Targa is a compromise.

Not a full drop-top, but more than a basic sunroof, the glass roof slides completely back across the rear window for a wind in hair effect without the associated refinement, security and company policy drawbacks of a soft-top.

The bad news is that it costs over £5000 more than the standard coupe, and, roof back, almost completely blocks the rear vision.

The 4S version we sampled also sits well up in the maximum BIK band at 251g/km, though that and the 26.4mpg average aren't bad for a 183mph car capable of 0-62mph in 4.7secs.

But the coupe can do all that, and if you need sun on head but can't justify a convertible, then maybe look at the £845 sunroof.
