The start point for the best source of fleet information
Volvo is offering a new range of sub-121g/km cars branded Driv-e, which includes an eco version of the V50 estate. The firm is pitching the car as the only premium brand estate that gets fleet drivers into the 13% BIK tax band.
Instead of a low-CO2 model in the range, all Volvo's 1.6 diesels fall under the Driv-e banner, which means drivers can still pick the top-spec model and not have to sacrifice luxury kit in the search for lower emissions.
Features including aerodynamic tweaks, new gear ratios in the top three gears and low rolling-resistance tyres have plunged the 1.6-litre diesel to an impressive 118g/km and an average fuel figure of 62.8mpg.
CO2-reducing measures aside, it's pretty much business as usual for the V50, which means a good interior, and classy looks.

Verdict
Another addition to the box marked ‘Lower CO2 with no sense of compromise’. Ability to pick higher spec is particularly welcome
