What's new: Infiniti continues its assault on the UK market with a fleet-friendly diesel due later this year. In the meantime, powerful petrol engines are the name of the game, like the G37 convertible driven here.
Excellent: This luxury competitor to the likes of BMW 3-series and Audi A4 is a head-turning attractive model that benefits from a lack of ubiquity found in its rivals.
Good: Satnav, which comes as standard, is superb in the UK and in mainland Europe. Never has a system been so clear and easy-to-use and, shock horror, gets you where you need to go without a hitch.
Average: The car is expensive, but standard kit is high - rear-view camera and parking sensors, satnav, 19-inch alloys, Bose 13-speaker sound system, leather seats and cruise control are all included.
Poor: Boots of convertible cars are expected to be small. But in this case the boot is more or less non-existent roof-down, making a weekend away with luggage challenging to say the least.
Verdict: Fun and good looking, but the performance on offer makes the G37 fleet-unfriendly.
