Infiniti G37x GT Premium saloon: One Minute Test Drive Review

What's new: Infiniti's attack on the UK market is now up and running. The upmarket brand from Nissan is launching slowly into fleet, with diesel due later this year. Until then it's big-engined petrol models only, like the G37 saloon driven here.

Excellent: This top-end BMW 3-series and Audi A4 rival looks classy and will certainly benefit from the exclusivity that comes with low numbers.

Good: It's a much better car to drive than may be expected, and isn't out of its depth in the company of premium German rivals. Interior quality is outstanding, and it has decent space.

Average: It's hard to predict how the G37 will fare in WLC terms yet, as KwikCarcost is still waiting for figures before it can draw conclusions, though it's unlikely to match German rivals.

Poor: The G37 is priced higher than its premium rivals, but spec is better with standard satnav. Trying to beat the 3-series in particular is hard without starting from a higher price point.

Verdict: Likeable, classy and well-specced, but not the badge prestige or efficiency to make an impact yet.
