Filler cap
Category: Lower medium
P11D price: £19,233
Key rival: Toyota Prius

Several small things are affecting my time with the Insight.

Firstly, I'm not a fan of the side-profile looks. Then there is the small, 40-litre fuel tank and noisy cabin - I'm not a big-mileage guy, but if I was, I'm sure both issues would get under my skin. As would the soft-touch button for adjusting cruise control, which always leaves me unsure as to whether I've changed speed or not.

The final grumble concerns the fuel-filler cap. It occasionally won't shut due to a temperamental sliding rod mechanism. A quick prod solves the problem, but it's still an irritation.
