iPod lead

iPod compatibility is slowly becoming standard on new cars but unfortunately the way they dock isn't.
Up until now I've encountered two types of lead: USB-style at one end and official iPod 'Mini-scart'-alike at the other, or simply a lead with a 3.5mm plug connector at each end. But the Megane introduces a third way - a colour-coded red and white pair of 3.5mm jacks for the car end and another 3.5mm plug for the iPod. Bang goes another £15.
The only consolation is that this third lead can also be used at the back of my home stereo amp and through PA equipment. Maybe Carlos Ghosn is a closet digital DJ?
