Our Fleet Test Drive Review: BMW 520d Touring - 10th report

Brake pad warning
Category: Executive
P11D price: £34,790
Key rival: Audi A6

I wasn't expecting to visit a dealer while running the BMW 520d Business Edition, especially not for a service, but a few miles back a service warning appeared on the dash. A quick look online revealed my nearest BMW service centre to be in Sunningdale, and phone call later I had the car booked in and a text confirming the matter.

The person who took the booking seemed surprised the brakes had gone so early and suggested it may be a warranty issue, possibly due to the recent snow and gritting. I felt a little relieved.

My only disappointment is that because I opted for a collect and deliver service I have to wait nearly a month.

We'll see how the issue is handled in the next report.
