Rear view mirror

How cool is the 'now you see it, now you don't' reversing camera image that magically appears to one side of the rear view mirror?

I love it - it's an ingenious way of adding an extra gadget without physically adding an extra piece of kit. It's also a nice surprise for most first-timers sitting in the front passenger seat, drawing a bit of an 'ooh' and a touch of an 'aah' when the mirror's dual role is revealed. Is it gimmicky, and unnecessary for a lower medium car this size? Not for me. Any help in avoiding low-lying hazards is welcome, particularly as the feature's standard on T-spirit spec.
