Volvo C70 180PS D5 SE Lux Premium: One Minute Test Drive Review

Date: 02 February 2010   |   Author: Tristan Young

What's new: Volvo's folding hard-topped C70, tested here in D5 SE Lux, form, has been given a facelift with new front and rear lights, grille and dashboard.

Excellent: The car's sleek styling is now even better and the new rear lights look ace at night. Meanwhile, exclusivity is assured with around 1200 being sold a year.

Good: Ride comfort is first rate thanks to comfy (now with softer leather) seats and it's got a big boot for the class at 404 litres with the roof up.

Average: There has been no change to the vehicle's chassis or suspension so the car still shakes over potholes, particularly when the roof is down.

Poor: Powered roof takes an age to fold up or down and you have to keep your finger on the button to do so. CO2 is at 174g/km.

Verdict: The Volvo C70 is a welcome change from the bigger-selling prestige convertibles in this market.
