The start point for the best source of fleet information

VW Scirocco: Test Drive Review

Date: 23 April 2010   |   Author: Rachel Burgess

When VW introduced its most fleet-friendly Scirocco last year, a 2.0 diesel, BusinessCar wondered why the German carmaker had opted to fit the 140PS version over a more potent 170PS.

Since then, VW has upped its game and now also offers the latter on its sporty coupe.

Costing just shy of a grand more than its 140hp partner, this Scirocco fits into the 18% BIK tax band, and offers a brilliant RV of 45.8% over three years and 60k miles alongside sub-140g/km emissions - all of which equates to respectable cost-per-mile figure of 49.4p.

Rear visibility is what you'd expect for a car with small rear windows and coupe'd rear, but is better than some competitors such as Renault's Megane Coupe. Further downsides include bad wet-road traction and a boot that is hard to get heavier items in and out of.
