You notice the lack of hill-hold assist living on a hill.

Audi's £65 option automatically activates the electromechanical parking brake when stationary, but without this technology the auto transmission has a nasty habit of creeping forward when in reverse. Case in point: on a fairly steep incline where I have to do three-point turns, halfway through I often end up in reverse, facing down the hill. At this point the car starts slipping down, even though I'm in a gear that should take me up. Only stamping the accelerator hard rectifies the situation. It's not pleasant.
