Winter tyres

Smug. That's how I've been feeling about fitting winter tyres from Continental to my long-term CX-7.

While the Mazda is already four-wheel drive, winter tyres do more than just help you get going in the snow - possibly the most amazing advantage on a modern on-road 4x4 of fitting winter rubber is the ability it gives you to stop. You still have to remember that sheet ice is slippery, but on the compacted snow in my neighbourhood, the CX-7 felt secure at all times.

My only fear is that the car behind probably isn't on winters.
