Subtle though the exterior revisions are, this is indeed the latest Audi A4 Avant. Exterior changes include mildly revised headlamps and taillamps, new bumpers and a different grille.
Of greater interest to businesses is the engine range, which Audi claims is up to 21% more efficient and 11% cleaner.
The 2.0 TDIe 163 SE tested here is among the lowest emitting models in the line-up, with 120g/km and 62.8mpg. Despite those figures, it's still good for 0-62mph in 8.7 seconds. Audi's usual qualities of fine build quality, refinement and a comfortable ride are prevalent as ever, but the A4 still lacks the involvement of a BMW 3-series. It's 490-litre boot is impressive, though larger can be found.
A cleaner version is available, in the form of the 2.0 TDIe 136 with 116g/km, but the 163hp model has bags more power. If nothing else, that's rather helpful if an estate is to be used for its intended purpose of hauling luggage, but the power hike comes at the expense of only 4g/km, so unless you're counting the pennies, it's worth it.
