What's new: This is the most affordable TT in terms of P11D, as well as being the most economical version bar the diesel. The 1.8 TFSI model puts Audi's sports car within reach of more company car drivers.
Excellent: From an enthusiast's perspective, a smaller but still punchy engine that requires a bit of work is often more engaging than large, powerful alternatives. That's certainly the case with this 160hp 1.8.
Good: Styling, image and build quality are what has kept the TT in firm favour since it launched in 1998, and there's no change here. Throw in this model's more digestible P11D value and it's even more appealing.
Average: The engine's note can become a little abrasive on the motorway and the gearbox needs working to maintain such speeds. Higher-mileage drivers might want to look elsewhere in the range.
Poor: Practicality is not a strong point. The long, flat boot is reasonable for a coupe but the rear seats are of little use and limited to children at best.
Verdict: It won't suit everyone but this model renders the TT more accessible and has plenty of appeal for lower mileage business drivers and keen drivers alike.
