Our Fleet Test Drive: Citroen DS5 Hybrid4 Dsport - 2nd Report

Wheel

There's no denying that the DS5 is a stunning car, helped by the optional pearlescent white paint, which costs £770, and the particularly lovely 18-inch alloys.

But those 18s - standard on the Dsport trim level - and the larger tyres have a penalty: they push the CO2 output from the headline figure for the DS5 Hybrid4 of 99g/km to 107g/km.

However, since we took on our long-termer, Citroen has now started offering the Dsport model with 17-inch alloys as a no-cost option so that those drivers wanting the lowest possible emissions and who want to go free in London's congestion charging zone can do so without having to opt for the lower-spec Dsign car.

But the welcome standard kit on the Dsport is already starting to prove itself. The parking sensors with camera and colour screen make manoeuvring simple and the auto-fold door mirrors reduce the likelihood of car park damage.

But my favourite feature is the keyless entry and start, which means you can leave the key in your pocket and lock, unlock, start and stop the car.
