Audi RS5 Cabriolet: Test Drive Review

Audi's supreme sports car line-up has been extended with the addition of the 450hp 4.2-litre RS5 Cabriolet.
Not one for the high-mileage drivers, the 26.4mpg RS5 will accelerate from 0-62mph in under five seconds with an epic soundtrack to match, and it feels every inch as fast as the figures suggest.
Currently lacking in a rival from BMW, with the new 4-series range coming later this year, the most logical competitor for the rapid four-seater is the Mercedes E500 Convertible, which is 36hp less powerful and £11,625 cheaper, although it is more of a grand tourer than a honed sports car like the RS5.
The Audi's performance is spectacular, but comes at a 148.2p per mile price. Its emissions are a maximum benefit-in-kind band 249g/km, but the RS5 drop-top offers an unrivalled combination of open-air glamour and supercar performance.
