Honda Jazz 1.4i-VTEC 100 Si: Test Drive Review

Date: 11 September 2013

P11D: £14,495

Honda is attempting to boost the Jazz supermini with a series of modifications to a model more associated with buyers of a certain age.

The car is now available in Si trim, which is based on the ES but for an extra £800 adds design features, as well as a few engineering tweaks.

The Si gets front and rear sports bumpers, side skirts, 16-inch alloys, privacy glass and front fog lights, as well as new seats, a leather-trimmed steering wheel and cruise control.

In addition Honda claims to have improved the power steering response and revised the suspension settings. It's certainly better for it,

but still no Mini or Ford Fiesta from a driving perspective. But the Jazz is a practical supermini that offers good residuals and decent running costs, although the 129g/km CO2 and 50.4mpg figures for a 100hp petrol engine aren't anywhere near good enough to compete with the most efficient and newer cars in the segment.
