Nissan Navara Visia: Test Drive Review

Date: 11 September 2013

P11D: £17,995 (Excl. VAT)

Nissan has launched the Navara Visia as the entry-level model in its pick-up line-up - allowing the brand to compete at a point in the market where it feels it was previously under-represented.

The Visia takes a 144hp version of the manufacturer's 2.5-litre dCi engine, which produces 350Nm of torque. A 190hp engine powers the majority of the Navara range.

With a price tag of £17,995, excluding VAT, Nissan says the Visia will compete for business sales with Toyota's Hilux HL2 and Mitsubishi's L200 4Life.

Despite the lower power output, the Visia does not lack grunt and the engine is happily married to a responsive six-speed manual gearbox.

The interior is functional but surprisingly comfortable for a model aimed at the workhorse end of the pick-up market.

The Visia has a 1250kg payload capacity and a towing capability of 2600kg.

Verdict

Well-kitted entry-level workhorse with impressive refinement.
7/10
