Toyota Auris Touring Sports 1.4: Test Drive Review

The lower medium estate segment has always been a core area for the fleet market, and Toyota's Auris Touring Sports is about as sensible, affordable and reliable a compact wagon as you're likely to get.
We tested the 85g/km hybrid version earlier this year (the Auris is the only model in this segment to offer such a drivetrain), but businesses should also consider the cheaper 1.4 D-4D diesel variant sampled here. It starts at £19,790, which is £1650 less than the cheapest hybrid, and offers 109g/km and an official 67.3mpg.
With only 90hp, it isn't what you'd call quick, nor is it in any way interesting, but it's an honest-to-goodness estate car and has a boot that defies its size at 530 litres with the seats up and 1658 when they're folded down.
Toyota's five-year unlimited mileage warranty and top reliability reputation secure its status as a logical option.
