Lexus CT200h Test Drive Review (2)

Lexus's revised CT200h is available with emissions as low as 82g/km, but only if you go for the base S model. Which isn't as bad as it sounds to be honest.
The car predictably doesn't look as good because a key part of the low emissions is that 15-inch alloys replace the more imposing 17-inch wheels that are standard across the rest of the range, but there's a 9.6mpg difference in the official figures so the cost-conscious, who this car would appeal to, will cope with the smaller wheels.
In some ways the S model is more appealing than those higher up the range. It doesn't get the touchpad infotainment control system that we've complained about in the past, which is a bonus, instead making do with a more traditional button-led approach. And although it's the cheapest model, dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth, DAB radio and auto wipers are standard.
The £1500 step up to SE, which adds the bigger wheels, front fogs and rear privacy glass, but at the cost of efficiency, isn't really worth it.
