Nissan Micra 1.2 DIG-S 98 Acenta Test Drive Review

Date: 13 August 2014

BusinessCar reviews the new Nissan Micra

Nissan has refreshed its Micra supermini in a move slightly overshadowed by the arrival of its Note close relation, which now also sits at the top-end of the same segment.

New front and rear styling, with the front aping the likes of the new Qashqai, plus big and much-needed improvements to the quality and look inside, make up the changes. The car's available with regular or supercharged petrol 1.2 engines of 80hp and 98hp respectively; the latter, driven here, is the better bet, being more efficient and more powerful, but it costs £1100 more than the non-supercharged 80hp option.
All models get Bluetooth and USB input, and this mid-spec Acenta, £1000 more than the entry model, adds alloys, leather steering wheel, climate control and cruise control.

The Micra is improved in look, feel and quality, and the emissions, BIK payments and running costs are all excellent, but it still feels half a quality step behind its main budget rivals.
