Nissan Qashqai 1.2 One Minute Test

Nissan's crossover market leader has been given a new N-tec+ trim, as well as an efficient 1.2-litre petrol engine. The new trim grade replaces the Accenta Premium.

Excellent

The new petrol engine sits just below the 130g/km CO2 threshold at 129g/km, which means fleets can consider the petrol and will get a car loaded with kit.

Good

The N-tec+ trim includes 18-inch alloy wheels, a full-length Panoramic glass roof and roofrails for an additional £550 over the standard N-tec trim.

Average

The new petrol engine brings cost per mile figures on a par with the Kia Sportage and Mazda CX-5, and while that makes the Qashqai average in that department, the level of kit you get with the Nissan is well above.

Poor

Depending on how many miles you do, the petrol might not make sense when there is a 99g/km 110hp 1.5dCi version available.

Verdict

The amount of kit on offer with the N-tec+ trim is impressive and the 1.2-petrol engine offers plenty of power. Worth looking at for low-mileage users.
