Seven-seat version of pioneering Prius hybrid gets a style and equipment overhaul.
Excellent
At 57.4p, the car puts up a good fight on costs per mile against seven-seat diesel rivals, with Seat's Alhambra on 62.3p and the VW Touran at 65.2p.
Good
That hybrid powertrain helps to knock CO2 down to 96g/km and means the Prius+ is just £69 in benefit-in-kind for 20% taxpaying drivers. A residual value of 32.5% was also one of the strongest from the basket of seven-seaters we looked at. The standard level of equipment is good, with cruise control, heated front seats, reversing camera, DAB radio and touchscreen all included.
Average
The additional seats in the back are very much for occasional use thanks to limited space. Adults might find it difficult to fit their legs in, but such is the case on most family cars that have extra seats.
Poor
This model year overhaul features a multimedia upgrade as standard, but it still feels old compared with most new cars on sale today. The touchscreen technology and way you interact with the car's hybrid system is not intuitive enough.

A practical and efficient seven-seat small MPV with few true competitors, but it still looks a bit tired. |
