It may be late, but the Renault Kadjar borrows its party clothes from the Nissan Qashqai. Is that enough, asks Al Suttie?
1 - Okay, the frock is all French couture from Renault, but the underwear is direct from the Nissan Qashqai, which is a good thing.
2 - It means the Kadjar rides well most of the time, only tripping up on the worst of roads.
3 - Refinement is also pretty darned good unless you wring out the very last rev from the 1.5-litre turbodiesel.
4 - There's not much point in straining the engine to this degree as it's got plenty of low-and mid-rev punt.
5 - The Eco Coaching function also encourages more relaxed driving and it's strangely addictive trying to improve your score.
6 - A big, bold rev counter also prods your conscience to move up a gear and save fuel. We averaged 53.7mpg.
7 - As tested, the Kadjar is amply kitted out with all-round parking sensors and one-touch folding rear seats.
8 - Practicality is a big plus for the Renault and the multi-position boot floor is ideal for keeping bags from crashing around.
9 - There's loads of space for the family too and our test adults (grandparents) fitted in easily without resorting to a pry bar.
10 - Value for money is another strong suit for the Kadjar, but is it better than a Qashqai? Nope, more the same but different.
