Our Fleet Test Drive: Audi A4 - 5th report

Thanks to its sheer refinement, it's easy to forget our A4's focus is economy. With previous reports seeing around 50mpg, I was eager to see how high that figure could get.
After a concerted effort to drive as economically as possible along several quiet motorways interspersed with just a few short urban trips, I was hoping for a 60mpg-plus actual economy figure.
However, the sums show 55.3mpg since the last fill - not even 75% of the official figure - despite the trip computer recording 78.5mpg on one 59-mile jaunt. Since such careful driving seems to have little impact on economy, I'll be making full use of throttle and aircon in future!
