Our Fleet Test Drive: Fiat 500L - 10th report

Date: 05 September 2014   |   Author: Guy Bird

Have you noticed how some European market-biased cars never have anywhere to put stuff, or if they do, the storage options are a little slim? I'm all for a streamlined approach, but when I drive to play sport, I need somewhere to plonk a 70mm or 80mm-wide water bottle.

My modest 70mm container will only fit with a fight into the Fiat's front cup-holders, the 80mm one has no chance, and neither get near to sliding into the door pockets.

The only place both will happily occupy is in the single cup-holder behind the handbrake, which, ironically, has too much wallow room and is slightly out of reach of the driver. Add to the facelift 'to do' list, Fiat?
