Our Fleet Test Drive: Honda Civic - 12th report

Date: 06 November 2014   |   Author: Guy Bird

There was a time - not that long ago - when estate cars were just long, boxy versions of previously nice-looking saloons or hatchbacks, with more space the only bonus.

But times have changed, and now even a bona fide mainstream function-hero like the Honda Civic Tourer has a great silhouette, accentuated by its clever window graphic framed by a rising belt line.

A falling roofline with dark glass hiding all the pillars in-between joins to the rear hatch glass without interruption. The result is a roof that appears to float and conveys a lighter and sportier feeling. Aesthetics no longer have to go out of the (very pleasing) rear window.
