Our Fleet Test Drive: Honda Civic - 8th report

Date: 21 October 2014   |   Author: Tony Rock

At 624 litres (1668 litres with the rear seats folded) the boot in the Honda is a whopper, beating the Ford Focus Estate by 148 litres and Vauxhall's Astra by 124 litres, but not the new Peugeot 308 SW (660 litres).

Part of that capacity is the 177-litre compartment below the boot (see picture), and I've found that if you raise the lid on the central section, it stays upright courtesy of the tonneau cover handle, which acts as a catch, although the lid itself does come with a hook for the tailgate.

Other boot highlights include a luggage net and power point, plus a couple of grab handles on the tailgate for closing it.
