Our Fleet Test Drive: Mazda 3 - 13th report

Date: 30 October 2014   |   Author: Hugh Hunston

As days shorten and temperatures drop, particularly when heading out on early morning journeys, one shortcoming with our Mazda 3 becomes transparent. or not.

Unlike previous-generation models, which I also experienced on a long-term basis, the technically superior successor lacks a useful front windscreen electric demisting and de-icing element.

Whatever the reason for the underperforming technology, whether it be a legacy patent issue or part of Mazda's weight-saving crusade, the 3's heating and ventilation system is no longer in its element.
