One week after its service and the 6's dashboard warning lights thought it was Christmas so all came on.

A call to the dealer TW White & Sons and the 6 was booked in that afternoon, where it was revealed that one of the black box control units was dead, making the car unsafe to drive.

A new unit was ordered and the car fixed and returned to me three days later.

Since then the warning lights haven't reappeared, but now the satnav keeps forgetting my favourite locations and doesn't  provide live traffic information any more, which if it persists will mean going back to the dealer.

Verdict

  • Best all-rounder in the segment
  • Low-grade plastics, no autofold mirrors
