Our Fleet Test Drive: Mazda CX-3 - 5th report

Date: 13 October 2015   |   Author: Tony Rock

Equipment:6 airbags, satnav, DAB radio, auto lights and wipers, climate control, heated front seats, rear privacy glass, rear parking sensors, cruise control, city brake system, lane departure warning
Options: Ceramic metallic paint (£540)

An orange, spanner-shaped warning light has appeared in the instrument panel of the CX-3. Maybe it's obvious what its appearance signifies, which is why it is, as far as I could see, excluded from a lengthy list of symbols and explanations in the user's manual, but it wasn't to me.

So I had to rely on good ol' Google and the dealer local to the BusinessCar office, and between the two I discovered that it means a service is due, and that apparently some models have had the servicing reminder incorrectly set to 6000 miles instead of 12,000.

The dealer also reassured me it was okay to continue driving as normal, and told me to pop in when I could to have the reminder reset. Which is what I shall be doing

Mazda CX-3 1.5D 105 SE-L Nav

Verdict

  • Boot space better than expected.
  • . but still not quite ample enough for a family
