Our Fleet Test Drive: Peugeot 308 - 4th Report

Still blessedly reliable after 3500 miles, the 308's outstanding 1.6-litre 110PS HDI diesel and cost-conscious right foot restraint have pulled overall average consumption up to nearly 53mpg, which compares to nearer 57 for the most recent 450 miles.

Bright sunny days highlight difficulty in reading the speedo, although it displays strategic 30mph and 70mph increments (pictured), unlike many counterparts.

While on the vision theme, the hefty A-pillars can obscure angled forward vision, particularly when scanning right at junctions.
