Having covered just under a couple of thousand miles across England and France in the space of a month in the Leon, I've had plenty of time to play with the eco settings.

There's a noticeable difference in power delivery when you switch from eco mode to normal, with the latter being a more rewarding driving experience, and the former for delivering fuel savings when you're not in a rush as well as a sense of moral well-being.

It basically feels like switching from the smaller 110hp diesel in lesser Leons than our X-perience model, back to the 184hp when you take it out of the eco set-up. Deciding between economy and power is a fluid arrangemen
