The Leon ST's 587-litre boot is the perfect size for the required shopping related to a child's third birthday barbecue. I know this after removing most of Sainsbury's stock recently to feed the army of small children taking over my house and garden.
The recessed boot floor ensured nothing dropped out when I opened the tailgate on my sloping driveway, and there was enough space to ensure I could add a couple of crates of keeping-dads-quiet-at-the-bottom-of-the-garden juice.
The car continues to hover tantalisingly near to the 60mpg mark, and being so close to achieving the milestone is proving to be a great eco-driving incentive.
