Our Fleet Test Drive: Skoda Superb - 7th report

The Skoda Superb in SE Business trim is a very well-specified car. It includes leather, satnav, climate control, Bluetooth and many other business essentials and luxuries. However, when we specified 'our' car we added a few options, some of which it's worth passing verdict on.

First up is the paint. Corrida red at £175 is absolutely worth it, and cheaper than the £535 metallic options.
Next is a two-stage sliding boot cover, which, even at £50, should really be standard. Staying at the rear, the variable boot floor (pictured) for £150 is incredibly useful because it allows the boot to be partitioned for smaller items and has a hidden area underneath.

Again at the rear, the £550 powered boot with foot-wave opening is a mixed blessing: I love the powered part, but the foot-wave only seems to work about 50% of the time.

Heated front seats for £250 have been wonderful this winter, and I think it's money well spent. As is the £400 for keyless opening and start, which when linked to the powered boot means you can quickly get shopping into the boot in a rainy carpark.

One last option I like, but hope never to use, is the space-saver spare tyre at £100. I love the reassurance that should I have a puncture, I won't have to use a compressor and foam system.
