Our Fleet Test Drive: Vauxhall Ampera - 4th Report

Date: 27 January 2014   |   Author:

P11D: £38,940

This time last year Vauxhall added the entry Earth trim to the Ampera's range.

Priced below £30,000 after a £5000 Government grant, it was intended to attract people discouraged by a hefty price tag of either £32,250 or £33,995 for the two existing trims, again after the £5000 subsidy.

However, when I picked up our vehicle from Dean Matthews, Ampera specialist at Vauxhall's Eastbourne dealership, he said all the entry car has done is encourage people through the door, as they frequently decide to upgrade to top-spec Electron models anyway.
