Volkswagen has revealed its second generation Up city car ahead of the model’s debut at next month’s Geneva motor show.
The new Up is due on sale from the summer, and is powered by a 90hp 1.0-litre three cylinder petrol engine, which is forecast to emit up to 102g/km of CO2, while the firm’s 82hp (60Kw) e-Up electric vehicle will also be offered.
New Up features include LED headlights, fog lamps which turn when cornering and air conditioning as standard, while smartphones are able to be integrated into the media system through an app.
A 300-watt Dr Dre sound system will also be offered with the vehicle.
In total, three trim levels are offered on the second-generation Up:
- Take up: The base model.
- Move up: Features a USB port, an enlarged multi-function display and a customised “Black Cube” design dashpad as standard.
- High up: Additional features include a ambient lighting system, a customised dashpad, heated front seats, a multifunction steering wheel, six loudspeakers, fog lamps with integrated static cornering lights and the new 15-inch “Radial” alloy wheels and air conditioning.
UK pricing and specification details will be confirmed closer to the vehicle’s on-sale date.
